The good folks at Business Insider named the top 50 most miserable cities in the United States. The list interested me because my home town and its immediate neighbor made the top 50.
The Maryland State Highway Administration removed four road signs in the Maryland outback referring to a mountain as “Negro Mountain.”
I probably will not drive until the month of September. It’s just too hot to drive strangers around in my personal vehicle.
Hagerstown was brutally hot yesterday. Sheri and I had a few errands to run and we waited till later in the day, thinking it would be cooler. We were wrong. We left the house after five in the afternoon and it was 101 degrees.
Uber sent me a ride request yesterday afternoon. When I arrived at the passenger’s location, a woman walked out of the house carrying a baby in a basket-style baby carrier. It did not look like an approved child safety seat. I didn’t see how it could be strapped into with a seatbelt. I didn’t see her child strapped into the carrier.
I had an unpleasant experience Monday while driving for Uber. It involved Maryland’s child safety seat law and Uber’s refusal to support it.
