Here you’ll find all the posts I’ve written that pertain to consumerism. What is consumerism? Investopedia defines it as:

Consumerism is the idea that increasing the consumption of goods and services purchased in the market is always a desirable goal, and that a person’s well-being and happiness depend fundamentally on obtaining consumer goods and material possessions.

I don’t define it that way. To me, consumerism simply refers to the act of being a consumer of goods and services or offering goods and services to consumers.

I was perusing the clearance section of Hagerstown’s original Walmart store (not the new store) when I stumbled upon this gem. It’s a Callaway golf hat on clearance for only $5. Even though I like golf hats and things on clearance, I passed on this hat. The reason? Because it’s obviously used and extremely disgusting. It looks like it spent the last 11 months on the head of a homeless man training for a 10K fun run.
