The Baltimore Orioles lost last night 9-1 to the Minnesota Twins. It’s the team’s third loss in a row.
From the Baltimore Sun:
After a 1-hour, 26-minute rain delay, starting pitcher Dean Kremer was crushed, Baltimore’s bats mustered only four hits and the Orioles lost, 8-1, to the Minnesota Twins at Camden Yards.
Baltimore Orioles CEO John Angelos cashed in last night
Even though the team lost, last night was a huge win for Baltimore Orioles CEO John Angelos. The reason? The 1-hour, 26-minute rain delay meant fans were flocking to the concessions area to escape the rain. Even though the Orioles have the second-lowest payroll in Major League Baseball, they have some of the highest-priced food and drinks. They have the second-highest beer prices and the most expensive Hot Dogs in baseball.
The high prices at Oriole Park at Camden Yards seem incredibly ridiculous when you consider the median individual income in Baltimore is $31,089. Baltimore’s poverty rate is at 20%.
It’s as though John Angelos doesn’t even know what city the Orioles call home. Then again, he doesn’t live in Baltimore or even Maryland. John Angelos lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
John Angelos is a terrible human being and I don’t like him
