Disney releases trailer for ‘The Mandalorian’

Disney releases trailer for 'The Mandalorian' - Bent Corner

Disney released the trailer for The Mandalorian, a television series based on the Star Wars universe. The series will premiere November 12 on the Disney+ streaming service.

From the description on the official Star Wars YouTube channel:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

When I first heard about this series, I thought it was about Boba Fett. It’s not. I assumed this because I thought they were going to finally show Boba Fett doing all sorts of kick-ass stuff. I thought he was finally going to live up to his hype. I’m glad it’s not about Boba Fett. I’m one of the few Star Wars fans in existence that doesn’t care too much for the galactic bounty hunter. As my friends in Texas say, he’s all hat, no cattle.

R2-D2 is a bigger badass than Boba Fett.

The official trailer

Judging from the trailer, it looks like the series will be rather dark. Good. I especially enjoyed seeing IG-88 going all murder bot on folks. IG-88 is to me what Boba Fett is to other Star Wars fans. I’ve been patiently waiting since The Empire Strikes back to see IG-88 doing what he does best, unleash the Kraken.

In conclusion

Going off the trailer, it appears Disney+ will be a must-have streaming service. It doesn’t go live until November 12, the day The Mandalorian premieres. At only $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year, it seems like a good deal. Unlike all the other streaming services, you can also download what you want to your devices. You can watch whenever or wherever you want. This feature will be especially convenient for me. I have AT&T as a moble carrier and they are notoriously awful with their network. It’s good to know AT&T can go down, yet I’ll still be able to watch IG-88 slaughter things.
