If you think Star Wars has become too political, there’s something you should know. The good guys in Star Wars were based on the National Liberation Front of Southern Vietnam (NLF). They were more commonly known as the Viet Cong.

The communist guerrilla combatants who fought against American forces in the Vietnam war served as an inspiration for the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars.

Who said this? George Lucas, that’s who. Check out this video:

So next time a Jeremy Hambly or a Jeremy Griggs video pops up in your YouTube queue, and you hear them blather on about how social justice warriors (SJWs) are ruining Star Wars, remember that Luke, Leia, Hon, and the rest of the rebel forces in Star Wars were based on history’s ultimate SJWs, the Viet Cong.

The Viet Cong are the O.G. at the top of the SJW food chain. When they canceled someone, it was with an AK-47, a satchel bomb, or a punji stick.

If you think Star Wars has become too political, remember that it always has been political. If you have a problem with that, blame George Lucas.
