Washington Nationals star prospect Bryce Harper’s time in Hagerstown has come to a close. Harper was promoted to the double-A Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League earlier today. He is expected to start tonight’s game against the Erie SeaWolves.

Bryce Harper played superbly in Hagerstown

Harper did well with the Hagerstown Suns. He hit for a .318 average and had 14 home runs. I never did get to see him play here, even though Municipal Stadium is only a five-minute walk from our house. We’ve only been to one Sun’s game this season and Harper wasn’t in the lineup. That didn’t stop a few annoying people from trying to get his autograph. We paid for front-row seats and people from the cheap seats came down to stand in front of us in the hope of getting Harper to sign their crap. Even though there was no room for them to stand in front of us, they didn’t let that stop them.

I hate autograph collectors.

I wonder if this means Bryce Harper jerseys will go on sale. The night we went to a game, the Hagerstown Suns official gift shop had them priced at $300 each.
