Lexus created a custom version of the 2017 Lexus IS sports sedan for the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Lexus Sriracha IS. Sriracha is the delicious tasting hot sauce made by Huy Fong Foods.
The trunk even comes stocked with 43 bottles of Sriracha.
The trouble with owning a car like this is that you’re expected to put Sriracha on everything. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. There are times when you may not want the feeling of sweet-tasting lava in your mouth. Maybe you have a canker sore, or you just had your tongue pierced. Do people still get their tongues pierced? Pull into a Denny’s parking lot driving this custom Lexus, and everyone is going to expect you to douse your meal with Sriracha. Maybe you just aren’t in the mood for spicy sweetness.
For days like that, you’d be well served to drive your Heinz Tomato Ketchup PT Cruiser or your Hellman’s Mayonnaise Toyota Corolla. It’s essential when owning a condiment car to give yourself options.
It’s something I wish I had considered before purchasing an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

Although it’s a beautiful piece of automotive engineering, the places you can drive a Wienermobile to are pretty limited. Pull up to a McDonald’s drive-through or anywhere else that doesn’t sell hot dogs in a Wienermobile, and you come off looking like an idiot. Plus, the Wienermobile doesn’t get good gas mileage, nor does it handle very well in the snow. Sadly, they don’t tell you this at the Wienermobile dealership, before or after you buy one.
