‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ now available on digital

'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' now available on digital - Bent Corner

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available on all the regular digital stores:

  • Vudu
  • iTunes
  • Amazon

Evidently Disney realized a lot of people were planning on staying home this weekend, soaking in vats of hand sanitizer surrounded by bundles of toilet paper.

To capitalize on the current CONVID-19 “state of emergency” (at least it is here in Maryland and next-door neighbors West Virginia and Pennsylvania), Disney decided to release the digital download of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker early. Isn’t that extremely nice of them?

I haven’t watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker yet. It’s not because I don’t want to watch it, I just don’t like going to the public movie theater. The whole concept of going to a movie theater, sitting in close proximity to strangers in a chair that someone was just sitting in for up to three hours, seems antiquated to me. It’s extremely germy too. This was true even before the COVID-19 pandemic.

At rather watch movies at home on my 65-inch TV, listening to my 5.1 surround sound system. I find it to be a much more enjoyable experience. Cheaper too.

I will be watching Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker tonight

I’m looking forward to watching it tonight. I heard Rose Tico has an expanded part in the movie. I like the sound of that. I’m a big Rose Tico fan.

Even if the move is not especially good, I’m sure I’ll find aspects that I like. I already know I’ll like the movie’s visuals. If it turns out after watching it that the visuals are all I like, I’m fine with that. Considering all the bad sci-fi and fantasy I’ve watched (or read) over the years, what’s one more to add to the stack?

At least I know the movie will look good.

Update

I watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and I enjoyed it immensely. Not only is it better than Star Wars: The Last Jedi, I think it is even better than Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I’m sure I could find things to nitpick, but I don’t want to. I liked it.
