My name is Richard Rottman. This website is my personal website. I write about what I want to write about, when I feel like writing about it. It’s neither fair nor balanced.
I’m from Southern California. I live in Maryland. I came here in 1994 after leaving the U.S. Air Force. I was offered a job by Walmart, working in a large centralized photo lab in Williamsport. I didn’t know anything about photo finishing. They were looking for former military electronics technicians to repair and maintain the machines used in the lab.
Here are just some of the things I’ve done for a living:
- Avionics technician (U.S. Air Force)
- Photo finishing equipment technician
- High-speed print facility electronics technician
- Variable AC frequency inverter repair technician
- Credit card processing technical support agent
- Web developer
I enjoy reading books. Here are the genres I enjoy:
- Science Fiction
- Military History, mostly about World War II
- Political history
- Sports history
- Horror, as long as it’s written by Grady Hendrix
- Fantasy, as long as it’s not “romantasy”
I collect all sorts of dumb things. What I’m interested in goes through phases.
