Ken Osmond 1943 – 2020

Ken Osmond, the man who played Eddie Haskell on “Leave it to Beaver” died yesterday.  He was a television legend.

From the New York Times:

Ken Osmond, who played the duplicitous teenager Eddie Haskell on the long-running sitcom “Leave It to Beaver,” one moment a smarmy young man when talking to parents, the next moment a devilish troublemaker when the adults were out of sight, died on Monday at his home in the Shadow Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. He was 76.

I was much too young to watch “Leave it to Beaver” when it originally appeared on television. I watched it a lot as a kid when it was on daytime syndication. Eddie Haskell was by far my favorite character on the show. I would not have watched it if it wasn’t for him.

He will be missed.
