Walmart is slated to sell a special black and white version of the standard Babe Ruth figure. It will be exclusive to Walmart. It’s intended to mimic a black and white photo.
Before you try to pat Funko on the back for this creative version of the standard figure, Funko is not the first to make a black and white version of Babe Ruth. McFarlane Toys was the first to do it. They released a variant “chase” version of the normal Babe Ruth figure in sepia newsprint.
It’s not the same, but it’s very similar.
I like sports-related Funko Pops
As a former Kenner Starting Lineup and McFarlane SportsPicks collector, I greatly appreciate Funko’s sports Pops. Walmart seems to be going all-in on sports Pops. Both Walmart stores in Hagerstown have the new assortment of NBA Pops.
At $8.78 each, Walmart is the cheapest place to buy Funko Pop figures. Target is a close second at $8.99. That depends if they even have them. The Hagerstown Target has a large selection of older Pops that nobody wants. They’re the kind you would see at a toy show for $3 each.
