Matt Diedrich is an eBay reseller based in Australia. Like many eBay resellers, he has a YouTube channel. It’s called The Aussie Flipper.
Matt posted a video a year ago entitled, “This Thrift Store DOES NOT Like Resellers.” While visiting a local thrift shop, he spotted some dolls he wanted to buy solely to resell on eBay. The thrift shop sold dolls by the bag. Each bag contained three dolls and cost a whopping $7.
There were three dolls Matt wanted to buy, but each doll was in a different bag. Matt asked a thrift shop volunteer if he could open the bags, take out the three dolls he wanted, and put them into their own bag.
The volunteer went to the back and asked her manager if he could do that. She returned and told Matt that no, rebagging dolls wasn’t allowed. Maybe the thrift store needs to make a sign?
Matt asked to speak to the manager. The volunteer went to get the manager, but returned alone. Shje told him the manager did not wish to talk to him.
Entitled much?
Matt went to the back of the store. He could see that the door to the backroom was open. According to Matt, the manager saw him approach the open door, so she hightailed it out of view. Not to be detoured, Matt asked the other two volunteers he could see through the open doorway why he couldn’t rebag the dolls.
One of the backroom volunteers told Matt that when bagging the dolls, they try to put one good doll into each bag along with two other not so good dolls. She said they do this to deter resellers. If a reseller wanted to buy dolls for resale, they would need to purchase multiple bags.
That’s reseller discrimination!
Matt claimed in the comment section that he felt the thrift shop discriminated against him.
In conclusion
What astounds me about this stupid video is that not only did he create it, but he also kept it on his channel. As of this morning, the video has 584 upvotes and 304 downvotes. With that many downvotes, Matt should reflect on what he did and maybe delete the video.
