Tim Doyle is an artist who specializes in creating prints, most having a pop-culture influence or theme. The one thing they have in common is they all look very nice.
When he’s not producing beautiful prints people can buy and hang proudly on their walls, he’s on Twitter throwing haymakers towards people he disagrees with politically. Here just one example:
The Ethan he is referring to is comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver. Ethan is not only a fantastic artist, he’s a Republican. Tim seems to have a fixation on Ethan. If I had a nickel for every time Tim called Ethan a Nazi on social media, I’d be able to buy every print on Tim’s website.
Seriously, I’d have a lot of nickels.
Tim’s doing what a lot of comic book creators and science fiction and fantasy authors are doing these days, attacking the fanbase, customers, and potential customers because of politics. It’s disgusting and embarrassing.
If Ethan Van Sciver is a bigot because he voted for Donald Trump then I guess half the country is composed of bigots. I simply don’t believe that.
The United States is the least bigotted country I’ve been to
You shouldn’t be in business selling products or services to customers when you label half your potential customer base as bigots. You’re needlessly cutting your market in half.
I’m not a Republican. I voted for Hillary in the last election, although I wasn’t very happy about it. I’m not a Democrat either, I’m actually unaffiliated now. It even says so on my voter notification card.
Here’s a fun fact: Republicans and Democrats have more in common than they have in differences.
About half the country is Republican, about half is Democrat. As an American, you need to learn to get along with other Americans, no matter which of the two major political parties they happen to belong to.
You can’t love your country if you hate half its citizens.
Tim Doyle needs to learn Republicans can be nerds too
Tim Doyle sells art intended for nerds to hang on their walls. Doesn’t he know Republicans can be nerds and have walls too? He lives in Texas. One of his U.S. Senators, Republican Ted Cruz, is a giant nerd who can recite lines from The Princess Bride.
If you’re a creator or have goods or services you’d like to sell me and I know your politics, you’re doing something wrong. If you’re like Tim Doyle and beat people over the head with your politics, if you attack others because of their politics, you’re really doing something wrong. Don’t do it. Be a better businessman or businesswoman. If you can’t do that, then just try to be a better person.
Tip of the hat to Diversity & Comics for bringing this to my attention.
