Why does Donald Trump hate brown people?

President Donald Trump spoke last night at a campaign rally in Columbia, Missouri. He warned people about the slow-moving migrant caravan in Mexico. He warned that if they “threw rocks” they would be killed by the U.S. troops he is deploying to the border. You know, the same troops he’s deploying to aid federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents with logistics.

Donald Trump must really hate brown people. I wonder why. I also wonder if he knows how many Latino and Hispanic people are in the U.S. Army. The same people he is counting on killing migrants suspected of rock throwing. It seems he thinks everyone in the U.S. Army is as racist against brown people as he is. They’re not. In fact, the opposite is true. The U.S. Army, like all branches of the military, works hard at eliminating racism from its ranks. Operational readiness depends on it.

When I first learned of the migrant caravan heading to the United States, I didn’t know what to make of it. I believe we are a nation of laws and people should respect that. If people come to the United States, they should do so legally. On the other hand, show me someone who walked hundreds of miles to come here and I’ll show you someone who wants to be here very badly. It seems to me someone who wants to be here that much will add to our country’s greatness, not subtract from it.

I don’t think I’d walk a thousand miles to come to the United States.

I’d much rather have people in the migrant caravan live here than the racist idiots who marched in the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. I’d love it if you could send all of them to Hondorous, Guatemala, or Mexico. They said they didn’t want Jewish people replacing them. They didn’t say anything about Guatemalans replacing them.

If only countries were like NBA teams

Too bad countries cannot orchestrate trades the way NBA teams do, only on a larger scale. We could trade away the type of people who make things worse for everyone else and in exchange, get people who want to be here.

Donald Trump believes an executive order can abolish birthright citizenship

President Donald Trump is considering abolishing the 14th Amendment to the Constitution with an executive order.

President Trump is planning to sign an executive order that would seek to end the right to U.S. citizenship for children of noncitizens born on U.S. soil, he said in a television interview taped on Monday.

The move, which many legal experts say runs afoul of the Constitution, would be the most aggressive yet by a president elected to office pledging to take a hard line on immigration, an issue he has revived in advance of next week’s midterm elections.

Donald Trump is daft

This is ridiculous, even for Trump. The 14th Amendment says, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

President Trump thinks he can undo a Constitutional Amendment with the stroke of his executive order pen? The man is daft.

Thousands protest against family separations

Yesterday thousands of protestors marched against family separations. Specifically, when people try to sneak across the southern border to illegally immigrate and they have brought children with them. Authorities arrest the parent or parents, and they detain the children in special children-only detention centers.

A lot of people have a problem with that.

I’m having a hard time understanding the outrage some are expressing over this new policy. It may be a new policy, but it’s a policy of enforcing old law. Before, the authorities turned people away who were attempting to cross the border illegally. They called it “catch and release.” Authorities didn’t arrest anyone. They simply turned them away, allowing the would-be illegal immigrants to try to sneak across the border again and again. Technically, this didn’t follow the law. It was cheaper and easier to turn these lawbreakers away then it would have been to subject them to our laws.

ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Some people want to abolish it.

If you have a problem with parents getting arrested and their children being detained separately, blame the parents. They’re the ones who made a conscious decision to break our laws and try to sneak into the country. We’ve tried to discourage people from coming here illegally, yet they still come.

People aren’t protesting all family separations

Not all family separations are worthy of protest. If a parent were to go to Target or Walmart today with their children and shoplift, if and when the police are notified, the parent would be arrested and they would be separated from their children. People aren’t allowed to bring their children to jail with them. Where’s the public outcry against that kind of family separation?

Make no mistake about it, people only virtue signal against one specific type of family separation, the kind non-American illegal immigrants face when they’re arrested. Some people care more about non-Americans than they care about Americans.

All countries have immigration laws

If there’s a better way of dealing with illegal immigration, I’d love to hear about it. Are there countries that have a better system of dealing with illegal immigration? If so, what countries and what is their system? I’m a firm believer in not re-inventing the wheel. If there’s a better way of stopping people from coming here illegally, I say we do that and not what we’re currently doing.

One thing we could do is build a giant wall across the southern border so people couldn’t even try to sneak in. I wonder has anyone thought of building a wall?

 

Today was supposed to be DACA’s deadline

When President Donald Trump announced the end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, today was supposed to be its deadline. Congress had until today to come up with something to replace it.

DACA isn’t a law. It was something put in place by then President Barack Obama with an executive action. He bypassed Congress entirely when he put DACA in place.

Today, March 5th was supposed to be the day DACA recipients could not renew expiring two-year permits. The courts stepped in and called Trump’s justification for ending the program questionable. Because of this, they did away with the March 5th deadline. Federal judges ordered the Department of Homeland Security to continue renewing all existing DACA permits.

Even witches support DACA.

The Trump administration tried to get the Supreme Court to hear the case, but they refused to take the matter up. Instead, they said it should continue to work its way through the lower courts.

My thoughts on DACA are mixed. I feel sorry for people living here illegally who were brought here as children. As children, I believe they did nothing wrong. The wrongdoers were the people who brought them here. Those are the people who should be punished.

I also don’t like how the current system doesn’t offer a pathway to citizenship. I believe anyone coming to the United States should have the goal of being a citizen. If you are coming to the United States for the purpose of making money to send back to your family in your home country, then I don’t want you in my country. The money you earn in this country should benefit the economy of this country.

What I find ironic about this non-deadline is how once again the courts have stopped Donald Trump from doing what he wanted to do. It’s kind of hard living up to the reputation of being the worst president in American history when the courts stop you at each and ever turn from enacting your agenda.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t like Donald Trump. I did not vote for Donald Trump. I very much did not want him to be my president. With that said, my life is really no worse than it was before he took office. I attribute that to his ineptitude. He’s so terrible at being president, he cannot get anything done even though his party controls both houses of Congress.

Maybe that’s the secret when voting for a president. Instead of picking the person you think will do the best job, pick the person you think will do the worst job. If they’re bad enough, the courts and their own party will stop them from doing anything.

Joss Whedon compares immigration enforcement agents to the German SS

Joss Whedon, the man behind TV shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly and the director of the Marvel Comics movies Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron went on Twitter and made a derogatory comment about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. He compared them to President Donald Trump’s SS.

The SS were Adolf Hitler’s elite soldiers responsible for the most grotesque and inhuman atrocities of World War Two. For example, the German SS operated the concentration camps located throughout Europe responsible for the extermination of over six million Jewish people.

The German SS were the worst of the worst. They were so despised by Allied soldiers that when captured, their surrender would not be accepted and they would be shot on sight.

If Joss Whedon truly believes federal ICE agents are anything like the German SS, he’s an idiot.

I have nothing but admiration and sympathy for federal ICE agents. Their job is not an easy one. They’re tasked with enforcing the laws passed by Congress and signed into law by various presidents. ICE agents didn’t create our immigration laws, our elected leaders did.

Joss Whedon knows this, yet he goes on Twitter and says something defamatory and completely untrue about people he doesn’t know. I think the only reason he did something like this was to send a message to his social justice compatriots. He may be a male feminist hypocrite, but he can still talk shit about federal law enforcement with the best of them.

Joss Whedon is dead to me. It pains me to say that. Even though I’ve consumed and enjoyed his work in the past, I can no longer do so in the future. Firefly is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. Every couple of years I binge watch every episode. I don’t ever see myself doing that again.

Will Democrats shut down the government because of DACA?

Some Democrats are indicating that any future funding bill must contain protections for undocumented immigrants brought here to the United States as children, the so-called Dreamers and the people currently protected by Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

If this is true, it would mean Democrats would shut down the government of the United States for people who are not even its citizens. I don’t know how I feel about that.

On one hand, I feel for people currently protected by DACA. Under no fault of their own, they were brought here by their parents to live in a country that was not their own. They were raised here as Americans, yet because of their immigration status, they aren’t really Americans. I cannot find any fault with them. Their parents? Yes. Them, no.

If I have any problem with DACA is that it doesn’t go far enough. People protected by DACA have no pathway to citizenship. That’s wrong. If you deny the ability to become a citizen of the country they were raised in, you are forcing them into a lifelong status of being second-class, sub-humans.

That doesn’t work for anyone.

The more of us living here in the United States who are citizens, the better. We all need an equal footing here if we want this to remain the greatest country in the world.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. Even if they shut down the government, it will only be kabuki theater. It’s not like Social Security checks will fail to go out of F/A-18 Hornets will be pushed off aircraft carriers into the Mariana Trench.

On the other hand, I think I would like to see the Democrats make a fist and actually stand for something. Stop protecting DACA recipients? Plant your feet Democrats and shut this mother down.
