If you only watch one episode of Doctor Who, watch this one

I have been watching Doctor Who on Netflix streaming for the last few months. I don’t know why I never watched Doctor Who before now. I’m well into the third season and last night I watched the episode entitled Blink. Not only is it the best episode of Doctor Who I’ve watched so far, it’s probably the best episode of any science fiction television show I’ve ever seen. Better than any episode of Star Trek and better than any episode of Twilight Zone.

Seriously, Blink is a magnificent work of science fiction goodness.

It’s everything you hope to see in a work of science fiction, but rarely do. That’s not to say I haven’t enjoyed any of the other prior episodes of Doctor Who. Some have been quite good. Almost all were well worth watching. Blink is just something different.

I don’t want to get too specific with what makes Blink so awesomely fantastic. My hope is that if you are reading this and haven’t seen it, you will reward yourself and watch it. I don’t think you need to have watched any of the prior episodes of Doctor Who to enjoy it. In fact, the Doctor himself isn’t really the focus of the episode.

As I said before, I don’t want to get too specific. I will recommend that you don’t watch the episode late at night or in a dark room. Blink is not only really good, it’s also really scary.

Creepy even, but in a good way.

  1. Totally the best one. My favorite too. I like the one with the clockwork dudes in the fireplace, too.

  2. Yeah, man. It’s me. Just popped by and saw this Doctor Who post. Have you gotten to the newest season yet?
