DC Comics is releasing a special 14-volume boxed set of hardcover books chronicling Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC’s massive event of the 1980s. The set will weigh 28 pounds and will retail for $500. DC is releasing the box set on November 12, 2019.

Amazon has it available for preorder at $350. That works out to be $12.50 a pound.

The boxed set includes the following hardcover books:

There’s no denying that $500 (or $350 through Amazon) is a substantial amount of money, but it gets you 28 pounds of 1980s comic book goodness.  Plus, it would take someone a major amount of time to get through all these books. It would probably take me a full year. That includes using Google or Ask Jeeves to look stuff up.
