Beto O’Rourke wants to take away your AR-15

ABC News hosted the third national Democratic presidential debate last night and for someone strange reason, Beto O’Rourke was invited to participate. What was even more strange then O’Rourke being in the debate last night was something he said: he wants to take away everyone’s AR-15.

Here’s a clip from last night’s debate:

Why would anyone want a gun that was not designed to kill people?

I think Beto O’Rourke is completely wrong on this. I’ve changed my mind on gun ownership. I think if you want to protect yourself against people who would do you harm, you should own a gun. Unfortunately, you never know when the police will do their duty and come to your defense. I was reminded of that fact during the 2015 Baltimore riots. The police just stood watching as thugs burned and looted personal property.

As far as I am concerned, the only reason to own a gun is to defend yourself from other humans. I couldn’t care less about so-called sportsmen who own guns for hunting animals for fun. You don’t need a gun to kill animals. Humans hunted woolly mammoths without guns. In fact, they hunted mammoths without even possessing weapons made from metal.

Personally, the idea of a fat guy killing an animal so he can eat it is kind of embarrassing. Hunt less deer and hunt more salads.

What exactly is the battlefield?

The Battlefield of 1815.

Beto O’Rourke referred to the AR-15 as a weapon designed to kill people on the battlefield. What pray tell is the battlefield? Pat Benatar told us that love is a battlefield. As far as I’m concerned, the battlefield is anywhere a human wishes to do me or my loved ones harm. The battlefield could be my driveway, my living room, or where I lay my head down to sleep.

In conclusion

Beto O’Rourke

I’m not a bloodthirsty gun nut who looks forward to with anticipation to the day I get to shoot another human being. I also think the best course of self-defense is putting as much space as you can between yourself and the person (or persons) who wish to do you harm. That said, I truly believe some people need a gun when it comes to defending themselves against other humans.

I also believe there is no better rifle in the world than the AR-15. They are easy to shoot, highly accurate, and extremely lethal.

I think Beto O’Rourke’s stupid comment did harm to the Democratic party. Him saying “We’re going to take away your AR-15” and the way the audience reacted with such glee, will tarnish whoever the Democratic National Committee chooses to run against Donald Trump. The attack ads will write themselves. Republicans running for the House and the Senate will also use O’Rourke’s statement against whoever they’re running against.

Way to go Beto.

  1. Wow, I retract my statement about you being left of middle. I find no flaw in your reasoning. I personally hate guns but when the government tells me I can’t own one regardless of the constitution… I hate that worse.

    1. I don’t hate guns. I grew up shooting guns. We already have a lot of gun control laws in this country. Most are stupid and arbitrary. Here in Maryland, it’s almost impossible to get a carry permit. Ten miles north in Pennsylvania, it’s easier to get than a drivers license. I’m an American citizen. People north of me are American citizens. Whey do we have different rights?

Before more gun laws are passed in this country, I’d like them to first abolish the Second Amendment. If they cannot do that (spoiler alert: they cannot), then they need to power down on more gun control laws.

  2. Some registration is needed. If someone has a criminal history or history of mental illness they shouldn’t be allowed near ANY guns.

Yet the NRA opposes even that
