I’ve been waiting for this book to come out. It begins with Batman #86, the first Batman comic with someone other than the garbage person known as Tom King as the writer.
Beginning with issue 86, James Tynion IV took over the writing duties. Do you know what I like best about James Tynion IV? He never blocked me on Twitter because of who I follow. I don’t think he blocks anyone. He doesn’t seem to use a blocking script that automatically blocks people because of who they follow.
Tom King does.
I used to like Tom King
Even though I have quite a few Tom King books in my collection, he blocked me, I believe, using a script. I think it’s because I follow comic book creator Ethan Van Sciver. Tom King tried to get Jae Lee canceled because he did a cover for Ethan. He seems to have a problem with Ethan. A true professional would try to keep any personal animosity towards someone private.
Nobody has ever accused Tom King of acting professionally
The way these scripts work is up put a person’s Twitter name in the settings, and then a script runs a query of everyone who follows that person. It collects those names and then auto blocks them. Needless to say, I don’t think one of DC Comic’s top writers should block people who are customers. It’s unprofessional.
When Comicsgate supporters talk about respecting the customer, running blocking scripts is the type of outlandish behavior they are talking about.
Batman Vol. 1: Their Dark Design collects Batman #86-94 in hardcover. It comes out on October 20, 2020, with a list price of $34.99. Like almost everything in life, it can be purchased for less on Amazon.
