Airplane flies over Penn State warning: 'Take the statue down or we will'

An airplane flew over Penn State campus today towing a sign that read, “Take the statue down or we will.”

One of the problems with erecting a statue of someone while they are still among the living is that certain facts may emerge after their death that puts their reputation into question. For instance, the former head football coach for Penn State, Joe Paterno. We now know that Paterno was a massive hypocrite who only cared about himself and his football program’s reputation, and not necessarily in that order.

Penn State has a lot of problems on their hands, one of them is that they still have a ridiculous looking, 7-foot statue of that hypocrite Joe Paterno standing in front of Beaver Stadium. The sooner they remove it, the better. It’s only a matter of time before they rid the university of everything associated with Paterno, including this stupid looking statue. The fact that they haven’t done it yet makes them look bad.

If there’s anything we’ve learned from this scandal, it’s that not doing the right thing is a bad thing.
