If you’re a World of Warcraft player and haven’t yet upgraded to the most recent expansion, Mists of Pandaria, now might be a good time to do it. Blizzard is currently selling the digital download of Mists of Pandaria for only $20. The sale ends on September 17, 2013 at 11:59 PM PDT. In other words, next Tuesday.
Sheri and I haven’t played WoW in some time, but recently have been thinking about reactivating our accounts and giving it another go. We tried to give Guild Wars 2 a try a couple of weeks ago when it had a free weekend, but the game wouldn’t run on Sheri’s PC. Evidently the onboard video isn’t good enough for Guild Wars 2. WoW runs fine on her PC with only integrated video.
Wow is good like that, it doesn’t require a lot of hardware to run.
Considering that I paid almost nothing for her PC, it probably wouldn’t kill me to slap a video card in it. The PC was a rescue; I found it in the dumpster at our old apartment building. It was a relatively new PC at the time. I took it upstairs, and the only thing I could find wrong with it was that the onboard ethernet port didn’t seem to be working. I installed a $15 network card in it and it’s been working great ever since.
Sometimes it pays to look in dumpsters.
