Let’s see iPhone propagandist Luke Wilson spin this
AT&T has suddenly stopped selling iPhones to people living in New York City. If you go to the AT&T website and try to purchase the iPhone, upon entering a New York City zipcode you will be instructed to “Please shop for another phone.”
Supposedly this is because the high-speed data network in New York City is overburdened. I’m not sure why this would stop AT&T from selling more iPhones. I know from personal experience that they make people pay for the high-speed data network whether you can use it or not.
John Shadegg is a fear mongering coward
Arizona Representative Republican John Shadegg stood on the House floor speaking out against trying those that participated in the September 11 terror attacks in a New York civilian courtroom and posed a rhetorical question to New York City mayor for life, billionaire Michael Bloomberg how he’d feel if his daughter was kidnapped by terrorists.
Classy.
Doesn’t Shadegg have a staff that he can run ideas past before he opens his mouth and says something really stupid? What a stupid thing to say. I’m sure Bloomberg would hate to have his daughter kidnapped. Who wouldn’t? That doesn’t mean he should curl up in a ball under his desk.
I don’t understand fear mongers like Shadegg. What does he think, that we shouldn’t try terrorists like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? I assume that he’s in favor of military tribunals. I guess then only members of the military and their families would face possible repercussions from the terrorists.
Does Shadegg not care about military families?
When did it become OK for Americans to act like cowards? It’s a trick question because it’s not OK. When you react to terrorism with fear and trepidation, you are responding just the way they want you to respond.
My advice to John Shadegg is that if he cannot get past his fears, maybe he ought to move to Canada. That’s what cowards did during the Vietnam conflict, they went to Canada.
Ruth didn’t build this house and coincidently, it’s falling apart

The concrete pedestrian ramps at the new Yankee Stadium are cracking, and nobody seems to know why. These are the same concrete pedestrian ramps built by a company that is rumored to have connections to the mob. Then again, if it’s concrete related and it’s in New York City, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the mafia is connected.
Personally, I don’t think it’s shoddy work, a bad design, or watered down concrete. I think it’s the wrath of God. I think God is a baseball fan (and why wouldn’t he be?) and he’s tired of the way the Yankees throw their filthy money around, mucking things up for everyone else.
Maybe you don’t agree. Maybe you think it’s a good thing that the Yankees are able to pay CC Sabathia so much money that his children’s children’s children will never have to work a day in their lives. I just think it’s a shame that there isn’t a way that would allow Sabathia’s descendants to be spared the unpleasantness of working for a living, but would still allow Sabathia to remain a Cleveland Indian for as long as he played baseball.
Or until he stopped being good at getting guys out.
Now you might not agree with me, but don’t be surprised if more strange things happen, things to do with the New York and/or the Yankees. For example, if the Hudson River turns to blood or if millions of locust descend upon the Triborough Bridge.
Those are the kind of things that happen when God gets mad. Bad things happen. Don’t take my word for it, look it up in the Old Testament.
Plaxico Burress goes to prison
The New York State Department of Correctional Services have released the official mugshot of one of their newest inmates, ex-New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress. Not only did they take away his freedom for the next two years for accidentally shooting himself in the leg, they made him get rid of this chin hair.
Who knew they didn’t allow facial hair in prison? At least they don’t in New York prisons. Terrorist masterminds held down in Guantanamo Bay are allowed to look like they are members of ZZ Top. I guess that’s different because they hate America and they grow beards because it’s part of their religion, the same religion that inspired them to send airliners packed with innocent people into buildings also packed with innocent people on a September morning.
I feel bad for Plaxico Burress and that says a lot because I’ve never liked him all that much. Not when he played at Michigan State, not when he played with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and not when he played with the New York Giants. I feel bad for him because he has to sit in prison for the next two years simply because he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Prisons should be for criminals. How does shooting yourself in the leg make you a criminal?
Don’t get me wrong, I think Plaxico Burress did an incredibly stupid thing. I think taking a loaded handgun into New York City to go clubbing in an asinine thing to do, especially when you simply stuff it into the waist of your pants and don’t engage the handgun’s safety. It was truly a boneheaded thing to do. That doesn’t mean I think he should go to prison for it.
Putting a bullet in his own leg should have been his punishment, not prison.
Saint Patricks Day
Today is Saint Patricks Day. Some of my most favorite things in the world are Irish. Guinness beer, Enya, and the greatest rock band of all time, U2.
Yes, that’s right. I said that U2 is the greatest rock band of all time. Deal with it.
I once made the mistake of being in New York City on Saint Patricks Day. What a mistake that was. I’ve never seen so many red headed, pale skinned drunks in my life. The fact that it was the middle of the workday didn’t seem to make any of them think twice about getting their drunk on.
Lenore Skenazy is an awful mother
You wouldn’t know it by looking at her, but Lenore Skenazy is an awful mother. If you didn’t know any better, you might think she was just another woman with a mullet.
When she isn’t needlessly risking the life of her 9-year old son, she is a columnist for the New York Sun.
In her latest column, she talks about how she left her 9-year old son at Bloomingdale’s in New York City with a subway map, a MetroCard, a $20 bill, and a fist full of quarters in case he had to make a call.
She points out that she didn’t give him a cell phone because she didn’t want it to get lost.
She seems to care more about her cell phone then she does about her own son. To be fair, maybe she doesn’t like her son, but she really likes her cell phone.
Skenazy goes on to refer to people that protect their children “wimps”. She even points to crime statistics from the Justice Department that show that the number of children abducted by strangers has been going down over the years.
Gee, I wonder why that is?
I would argue that this is because parents are being more careful about exposing their kids to unnecessary risks. It’s not because there are fewer child predators. It’s because parents have heard the story of Adam Walsh. It’s because parents are being smarter.
Parents not named Lenore Skenazy.
Hopefully for her next column, she drops in at the local AIDS hospice and has unprotected sex with some of the patients. She can then take an AIDS test and if the results comes back negative, she can write another column. She can say that people who think unprotected sex with numerous AIDS patients is dangerous are wimps.
Maybe she is only brave when she is risking someone else’s life.
DC electrical service in New York City finally comes to an end
I didn’t even know that direct current (DC) electricity service still available anywhere, let alone New York City. It seems that alternating current (Con Ed) still had one lone DC power station still up and running and feeding DC to customers. It was finally converted over to Nikola Tesla’s alternating current (AC) electricity on November 14.
Back in the day Thomas Edison and had a long standing fued over which current was better. Edison pushed the idea of using inefficient DC while Tesla campaigned for the much more efficient AC current. Edison would denounced AC as being too dangerous. He would even electrocute live cows with using AC to try to show just how scary dangerous AC current supposedly was. In reality, DC is much more dangerous then AC.
For getting electrical power from one place to another, AC is clearly the superior form of current. It’s not even debatable.
Nikola Tesla was truly a genius and he was one of the most important men to ever live. Of course he died penniless and severely in debt because that is just the way Life works.
