The long National nightmare will soon be over, the Charlotte Bobcats will change its name to the Charlotte Hornets. At least that’s what Sports Illustrated is reporting. There will be a press conference later today by majority owner Michael Jordan detailing the switch.

This is great news. There is just something purely wonderful about the old Charlotte Hornets logo and colors. Though they may not have always been a good, competitive team on the basketball court, they certainly always looked good. The organization formally known as the Charlotte Hornets, now the New Orleans Hornets, and soon to be the New Orleans Pelicans, is stupid for just giving all that up.
