Microsoft to stop making fake iPods

Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft will soon stop introducing new versions of the Zune audio and video player. In other news, Microsoft has been releasing new versions of it’s fake iPod, the Zune. Who knew?

Seriously, I thought Microsoft stopped making these a while go. It never occurred to me that you could still buy a Zune, except of course at a flea market.

According to the same Bloomberg article, Microsoft will continue embedding the Zune software on smartphones running the Microsoft operating system. There’s also a Zune link on Xbox Live, though I’ve never thought of clicking on it.
