You know those people that insist that President Obama was born in Kenya and because of that, believe that he is not an American? They are refereed to as Birthers, and it turns out that Baltimore Orioles outfielder Like Scott is a proud member of their ranks. Scott sat down with someone from Yahoo’s baseball blog Big League Stew down at Major League Baseball’s winter meetings. From Big League Stew:
“[Obama] was not born here,” Scott asserted to Answer Man in the session’s last segment. “That’s my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go — within 10 minutes — to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, ‘See? Look! Here it is. Here it is.’ The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn’t answer anything.”
What none of these Birthers seem to understand is that even if Obama was not born in the U.S., he would still be a natural born U.S. citizen. The reason? Because his mother was a U.S. citizen. It’s the same reason Tim Tebow is a U.S. citizen and not Philippines citizen. Even though he was born in the Philippines, his parents are U.S. citizens. The same applies to John McCain, the U.S. Senator and former presidential candidate that I’m certain Like Scott voted for. He wasn’t born in the U.S. He was born in Panama.
Also, you know that “real” birth certificate Like Scott says he has in his file cabinet? Guess what? It’s not his “real” birth certificate. It’s a copy. His “real” birth certificate is on file in Florida, where he was born.
Luke Scott is an idiot.
