Keith Bardwell, the raciest redneck Justice of the Peace down in Louisiana that recently got national attention when he refused to marry a man and woman because they were of different races, spoke to CBS News about why he did what he did. You know, deny a couple of people their civil rights because of the color of their skin.
It’s not like they were gay or anything.
It’s remarkable that something like this would happen in this day in age. Then again, it did happen down in the heart of Confederate country.
Bardwell claimed the reason he refused to marry the couple was because of the children that would be the product of a interracial marriage. That any children the couple had would be rejected by both sides of the family because, I guess, they weren’t racially pure. Even if what he said was true, does he think that people cannot have kids unless they are married? Or that all married people have kids?
