With all the hullabaloo surrounding the death of Michael Jackson, it’s almost easy to forget that Farrah Fawcett succumbed to cancer the same day Michael Jackson overdosed on narcotics and had a heart attack.
Like most men my age, as a boy I had a Farrah Fawcett poster on my wall. I’m far from unique in this regard. I’d be surprised to find many men my age who grew up in the 70’s that could not say that same unless of course they are gay. Maybe that’s one of the first things in their life that made them realize they were gay- that they didn’t want a Farrah Fawcett red swimsuit poster on their bedroom wall.
Farrah Fawcett had a somewhat limited acting career. She was on Charlie’s Angels for only one season. I seem to remember he being in the science fiction movie Logan’s Run. I’m sure she was a few more too, but her major claim to fame was not television or movies, it was that red swimsuit poster.

/ June 28, 2009She was actually nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her acting as lead in “The Burning Bed” and how can you forget her role in “The Cannonball Run” In addition to Logan’s Run, she was also in the Sci-fi flick “Saturn 3.”
But yeah, when I think of Farrah, I always go back to that poster! LOL

/ June 28, 2009I had the famous famous poster- it was a prize at carnival games around Central New York when I was in middle and high school. Methinks the nippleness had a lot to do with the popularity- good for her for making some bucks off of having a healthy, attractive body. I know I liked looking at it!

/ June 28, 2009I think I got my copy of the poster at a carnival too. It was at the world famous Antelope Valley Alfalfa Festival. I’m sure you’ve heard about it. Anyway, there was some stupid game where you would throw a dart at a poster and you would get a copy of the poster you hit. Basically, you were simply buying a poster because it was pretty hard not to hit the poster you wanted with the dart.
Not only did I get a Farrah poster, I think I “won” a Fonz poster too.

/ June 29, 2009I think saturn 3 had kirk douglas and harvey keitel in it. She did a playboy shoot at the age of 50 and looked a lot hotter than two naked 25 year olds. Her last big work was a documentary charting her battle with cancer. Overall I rather liked her. Dynamite smile too.
