President Obama greeted King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia before the official G20 leaders group photo at London’s Buckingham Palace by bowing to him.
There’s also video of the act. It happens at about the 0:54 mark.
There are just some things I’d hoped that I’d never have to see. The President of the United States bowing to anyone, let alone to the King of Saudi Arabia, is just one of those things. I thought it was bad when President George W. Bush was photographed holding hands with that asshole.
This really makes me both mad and embarrased. Mostly mad.

/ April 10, 2009It is unthinkable for an American President to bow to a foreign monarch. We fought a revolution to end that, remember? Members of the US State Dept. have been criticized by their superiors for curtseying to the Queen of England. That a US President would bow to a Saudi monarch, and to bow so low as to indicate an inferior status to that of the king, is a diplomatic nightmare, a self-condemnation, a visual proof of his true loyalties. Barak Obama, the Unamerican President.
