If you’ve watched the trailer for the upcoming Watchmen movie, you might have recognized the tune that accompanies the trailer. It’s The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning by the Smashing Pumpkins.
It doesn’t look as though the song actually appears in the finished movie. At least it’s not included in the official Watchmen soundtrack. Why do they include music in trailers that do not appear anywhere in the film? It gets to be annoying. For months now I have watched each new version of the Watchmen trailer and I have heard this song accompanying it. I associate this tune with the movie. It’s triggered a Pavlovian response in me. When I hear The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning, I automatically imagine the Owl ship coming up out of the water.
There is a movie soundtrack the song does appear on. It’s track one on the Batman & Robin Soundtrack.
Why would they recycle a song for the Watchmen movie from arguably the worst superhero movie ever made?

/ March 10, 2009Nah man, you see they used Muse also in one of their trailers and it wasnt in the movie. The recycled it because of the meaning in the song, just look at the songs title. All the songs in the movie have a good reason to be their. The opening scene in Watchmen is amazing, Bob Dylans Times they are a changing fits so well. I liked the movie a lot, a lot of people dont. I didnt like the credits song MCR whatever.
