When I first heard about the controversy concerning the fact that John McCain did not know how many homes he and his wife owned, I honestly thought it might just be because he doesn’t actually own any homes. Like all good marriages, his wife is the one with all the money. She is the one that actually owns everything. Like most rich Republicans, she got all her money the old fashioned way.
She inherited it.
The presumptive Republican nominee, though, may have some wiggle room in explaining why he couldn’t immediately provide an answer when asked by Politico how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own. Sen. McCain himself does not own any of the properties. They’re all owned by Cindy McCain, her dependent children and the trusts and companies they control.
I saw a commercial last night while watching Big Brother 10 that the Obama campaign quickly slapped together. It was making fun of McCain because he couldn’t remember that he owned seven (7) homes. The number is actually eight (8), but they are all owned by his wife Cindy. Why should the actual facts get in the way of a good dig?
I was kind of surprised to see the Obama campaign even touch upon the subject of home ownership. Obama has no business criticizing anyone about their real estate holdings. When he and his wife Michelle bought their Chicago mansion, they not only received a special interest rate not available to most people, they received some special assistance from convicted felon Antoin “Tony” Rezko.
I guess the Obama campaign is trying to paint John McCain as some out-of-touch multi-millionaire. The reality is that Barack Obama has far more money then John McCain. In 2007, John McCain made a total of $419,731. In 2007, Barack Obama made a total of $4,238,165.
So the guy that made ten times as much money as the other guy is trying to paint the other guy as an out-of-touch stinking rich multi-millionaire. Only in America.

/ August 22, 2008Yeah, why would Obama even open himself up to that one? The motherfucker is just as rich as McCain.

/ August 23, 2008I think since his campaign knows that the press are such ardent Obama supporters, any mention of Obama’s housing issues isn’t likely to come up. And technically Obama is far richer then McCain. All that money is actually Cindy McCain’s. He is a lot like John Kerry in that regard.
