Now that Hillary Clinton has ended her presidential bid and endorsed Barack Obama, I’m wondering why I am supposed to now change my mind about him. I came to the conclusion a while back that he would make a really poor choice for President. Having Hillary Clinton now drop out of the race doesn’t change that.
It wasn’t a decision I came to lightly. It wasn’t a decision I enjoyed making. On February 12, I voted for Barack Obama in the Maryland primary. I felt good about doing it. I had never felt that good about voting for a candidate. Truth be known, I usually vote against someone instead of voting for someone. For example, in 2004 I was voted against George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. I did this by voting for John Kerry and John Edwards. I was holding my nose when I voted for these two men to be President and Vice President.
I was looking forward to voting for Obama again in November in the general election.
Then something happened. Things began to happen that made me question if Barack Obama was really the person I thought he was.
First his wife made the comment that this was the first time she had felt proud of her country. It helped perpetuate the myth that Democrats were somehow unpatriotic.
Shortly after Michelle Obama’s dumb comment, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright controversy took center stage. The man on I saw on the video didn’t look like the type of person Barack Obama would choose to be his paster. At least not the Barack Obama I thought I knew. The Barack Obama I voted for in the Maryland primary wouldn’t choose a paster that wore fake African attire and humped the pulpit.
Then I learned about his connections to the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers.
Then I learned about his connections to slum lord and now convicted crook Tony Rezko.
At this point it was clear to me that the Barack Obama I had in my head was not the same Barack Obama running for President. He was a fake and he was a liar. He has since renounced his relationship with the fake African attire wearing, pulpit humping holy man. He claimed he could never do that. He even left the church. Not that it really matters. From what Barack Obama has said about Reverend Jeremiah Wright and his former church, he clearly had no idea what was going on there. Either that, or he was just simply lying.
I’m tired of having a liar for President.
I already decided I would not be voting for Barack Obama in the general election. I was hoping that I would not even be seeing his name on the Diebold touchscreen. I was hoping that I would instead see Hillary Clinton’s name on my Diebold touchscreen. That’s clearly not going to happen now.
Hillary dropping out and endorsing Barack doesn’t change the fact that I will not vote for him.

America will have a fighting chance against the terrorist’s goal to bleed America to bankruptcy when no votes are counted by Diebold voting machines!
“I’m tired of having a liar for President.”
That’s going to be a problem. Have you considered moving to another country?
Moving to another country wont change who the President is. What strikes me about Obama and his seemingly inability to tell the truth is that he lies about stuff that isn’t even important. He lies about stuff that nobody even cares about. For example, he recently claimed that his uncle helped liberate Auschwitz. Unless his uncle was in the Soviet Red Army, that’s not true.
i think it’s in terms of degrees. Obama might not tell the truth all the time, but i don’t know of one person who does. esp. a politician. plus McCain is even worse! so in terms of degrees, Obama is the better choice.
i see a pattern here of you getting on board something very passionately and then disavowing it later. this as worked on Obama, Wordpress (then later Godaddy), and various movies.
No, that’s not it. I’m just willing and able to change my mind about something when presented with new data. I supported Obama until I learned about his church and the people he surrounds himself with. When it became clear that Obama was something different then what he was presenting, I was able to admit it. Too many people weren’t.
As far as WordPress is concerned, I thought WordPress (and FeedBurner) was giving me problems until I discovered that the source of my problems had to do with my hosting provider.
I have an open mind. I am more then willing to admit when I am wrong about something. Like I was about Obama or WordPress.
I have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to movies, but then again, I don’t really care.
just pointing it out. no biggie
I really don’t see where it appears that you put any more effort looking into the negative things people have associated with Obama than you put into deciding to support him in the first place, though. And to seem to imply that Hillary would have been someone you could better vote for, in terms of being tired of liars in office, demonstrates a disconnect from reality, Rick.
As far as unnecessary lies, I think Obama could better build a case for his uncle having provided some form of help towards the goal of ending the horrors at Auschwitz than Hillary can make that there were any bullets within a mile of her to dodge in Eastern Europe.
Other then the sniper story, what has Hillary lied about? When you start to look into some of the things Obama has said, the two candidates do not compare.
