Pimping ain’t easy
Hillary Clinton threatened not to attend any more events sponsored by MSNBC over a comment by one of their news personalities, David Shuster. Of course MSNBC knuckled under and suspended Shuster. Caving into pressure is what they do best.
Shuster said that Chelsea Clinton had been “pimped out” to make calls to superdelegates on behalf of her mother, Senator Hillary Clinton.
Only an idiot would think that Shuster meant that Hillary was sending Chelsea out to perform sexual acts with strange men for money. That is how they chose to react to the comment by Shuster implied that Chelsea was a prostitute.
What Shuster should have said was that Hillary Clinton is getting so despite in her run for the White House that she has enlisted her 27 year old daughter to call Democratic operatives to put pressure on them to cast their superdelegate vote for her mother - no matter what the will of the people may be.
In other words, Hillary is pimping Chelsea out.
The more states and delegates Barack Obama wins, the more Hillary is counting on the superdelegates to give her the election. Since an overwhelming number of these superdelegates have ties to the Clintons, she sees this as a clear advantage over Obama.
Chelsea is not a 14 year old kid anymore. If she is going to help her mother circumvent the democratic process by locking in the superdelegate majority, she is fair game.

Yeah, she’s not a kid anymore, but real journalists should have a little more integrity than to use the word “pimping” in public. If someone were to use that phrase at the water cooler, it’s different. On national TV, that’s just irresponsible.
The most unfortunate thing about this whole thing is what this reveals about America’s news sources. An intelligent person who wants a non-biased report on news and events has nowhere left to go- CNN, Fox, MSNBC- they all suck shit. There are no credible TV sources anymore.
David Shuster once called Ron Paul a nut job or a crackpot. I don’t remember which. I don’t know if he is really a journalist in the classic sense. I see him a lot on Morning Joe and he is always very opinionated.
Here’s the actual quote:
Granted, I don’t care for the Clinton’s, but it seems like a good question to me.
I don’t disagree with the question or think it’s bad- just that he used poor judgment in his choice of words.
But it was not worse then comparing Ron Paul to Al Qaeda or a crack pot. He wasn’t forced to apologize for those comments. It’s hypocritical for MSNBC to take punitive actions against Shuster over something said about Chelsea. She’s a big girl and if she can’t take a little heat, she shouldn’t be trying to circumvent the democratic process by putting pressure on superdelegates to vote the opposite of the people.
He should have taken heat for all of those statements. Maybe the last comment was “the straw that broke the camel’s back” and they punished him for all of those statements. I dunno. Either way, I hate Hillary Clinton and MSNBC.
I think when she threatened to not participate in MSNBC sponsored debates, it was code meaning that she would spend less money on MSNBC and NBC and more money buying ads on ABC, CBS, Fox News, and CNN.
