Ron Paul thinks this is a person
Texas Republican/Libertarian Congressman Ron Paul is running for President and he thinks the above photo is that of a human being. It’s a fertilized egg. He believes it is a person like you and me.
I was listening to Air America Radio yesterday and heard the host conduct an interview with Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is at his core a Libertarian which means he thinks the government shouldn’t pass laws that prohibit people from doing things unless doing those things impede or intrude on the rights of others. Unless it’s something Ron Paul personally doesn’t like. In that case, he’s all for laws that prohibit that.
Ron Paul is against abortion. I heard him say so on Air America Radio. Normally I would tell someone who is against abortion to simply not have one. In Ron Paul’s case, that’s not very practical advice because he doesn’t even have a uterus.
He wont ever need to have an abortion.
That’s not good enough for Ron Paul. He doesn’t want anyone else to get an abortion either. He said in the Air America Radio interview that he is an OB/GYN doctor and over the course of his career he has delivered close to 4 million babies. Maybe it was closer to 4 thousand babies. I don’t remember. The point is, because he has delivered a whole bunch of babies, he doesn’t want a woman to have a choice when it comes to something as important as her own reproduction.
He wants to make that choice for women everywhere.
Ron Paul even authored legislation that sought to define that human life begins at conception. He not only believes a fertilized egg is a person, he wants everyone else to believe that too. He wants it to be a law.
That doesn’t sound too Libertarian to me.

Hi Kaitlyn! It’s daddy.
Oops, sorry, I thought that was a photo of my daughter when she was in her earliest stages.
I think that’s a person too.
I’d just like to stop by and chime in that this is an area that many people misunderstand him. Ron Paul is personally against abortion, yes, but he’s a staunch constitutinalist and he absolutely does not believe that the federal government has any power over the matter. He views it as a states issue, and would behave that way in office. People seem to try and make him seem like he’d be this crazy anti-choice president if he got in office, which is completely false. He doesn’t view it as a federal issue, period.
You sir are an WRONG. Ron Paul is PERSONALLY against abortion at the Federal level.
What does that mean????
It means that he would leave it up to EACH and EVERY State to decide if that will be pro abortion or against it.
Do some more investigation before providing a disservice to your readers.
You are spreading MISINFORMATION.
ABORTION = STATE ISSUE………………….NOT FEDERAL
VOTE RON PAUL !!!!
Karl, on his website he says that he is an unshakable foe of abortion. That means I guess that you could pick him up and shake him and he wouldn’t change his mind.
Abortion is not a state issue. It’s a woman issue. It’s up to each woman to decide if she wants to reproduce. It’s not up to the state she lives in. It’s none of their business.
If he wants to pretend that a fertilized egg is a person, more power to him. I just think he’s wrong and more then a little silly.
I think you’re oversimplifying. No one thinks that that is a person. It’s just going to be a person. Not potentially a person like an unfertilized egg. It, barring some unfortunate incident, will be a person.
P.S. This article is sensationalist, is based on your memory, and is just generally poorly written and retarded.
Vinny, he believes that a fertilized egg is a person and because of this deserves every right afforded to all persons. It’s how he can justify his view on a woman’s right to choose. A woman getting an abortion is infringing on the rights of the person currently occupying her womb.
Vinny, thanks for the kind words. I don’t think my post was very sensual, but to each his own.
Rick you are right but what you do not understand is that the abortion issue has NOTHING to do with the FEDS. Read the constitution.
Just because Ron Paul is against it does not mean he wants to impose that on Women.
It will be left up to the states to decide on a State by State basis. Some states will other will not.
Nothing prevents women from traveling to the next state to have an abortion.
The theme here is that the Federal government does not have the power to dictate these important social issues. They need to be decided at a local level.
Also why did you edit out my website? What are you afraid of? The truth?
Karl, it’s not up to the states. It’s none of their business. It’s up to the woman. States don’t have rights. People have rights.
And I didn’t edit out your website. I removed your links to Ron Paul’s website. Are you him?
Don’t have the option of including ones website on blog if your going to censor it. Shame on you.
States means people. The republican form of government allows people in states to decide what is best.
Anyhow what is your issue? If it is not of the states business then why have a Federal law mandating conditions? So now you have a Supra state butting in to peoples business when they have no authority either way.
The moral here is the Feds have no authority at all on this issue. The states get their power from the people and can decide accordingly. So again I agree with you people have the right not governing bodies.
Exactly what Ron Paul supports.
Ron Paul may be a looney, but unlike Ross, he’s my kind of looney. And technically, everything Karl says is correct. Read the constitution.
Karl- Don’t be an assbag. Stop spamming. If you don’t like the policy of a particular blog, don’t post there.
PS- You sound like a sanctimonious prick. When you said to read the Constitution, you realize there’s nothing in there about abortion, right?
Also, please visit my website, http://www.guywhowillneverbeelected.com. The sister site is http://www.snowball’schanceinhell.org. Thanks.
Schooly,
You’re right, abortion IS NOT anywhere in the constitution which is exactly what Karl is saying. It is unconstitutional to have a FEDERAL abortion law - which is Ron Paul’s position.
Ron Paul is against abortion.
He knows that leaving it up to the states makes abortion illegal in at least 40% of the country.
Making his goal half achieved. Think of all the babies he thinks he’s saving? Think of all the lives he’s ruining.
No child should be born if it isn’t wanted.
It’s despicable to ban abortion, do you want children who would otherwise have been aborted shortly after conception to be born into hateful families?
Families that can’t afford to have children?
Families that will sexually and physically abuse said children?
I’d rather see a ten thousand abortions than one unloved, abused baby.
I don’t know what’s more frightening, Ron Paul, or the people who support him…I don’t know about everyone else in the 20 something demographic, but I’m sick of hearing about this guy…racist…
With attitudes like this displayed in the Comments sections, it shows why all Americans deserve to be enslaved by their political masters.
This needs to be voted up more in reddit, digg or any of those sites! This is by far one of the best way to put it.
Everytime RP has talked in an interview, GOOGLE CAMPUS specifically, he talks about the 3rd trimester. I have never even heard him talk about a fertilized egg. He talks about fetuses. And yes, at that point in development, they are a person. They have a heartbeat and probably sex organs. Regardless, RP thinks it is up to the States to determine the law because he thinks each State should have it’s own sovereignty.
“Abortion is not a state issue. It’s a woman issue. ”
Last time I checked, you still needed some semen somewhere to get pregnant. I think your forgetting someone else you selfish cunt.
Here’s a thought. Use a condom or a pill and you won’t have a problem. Show some responsibility.
“I don’t know what’s more frightening, Ron Paul, or the people who support him…”
You should be scared. If the Libertarians ever get power, the country as you know it will never be the same and people like you will be weeded out and put out to pasture. The truth will come out.
Schooly, you are a douchbag troll.
It’s not a person. At most it looks like a marshmallow. I’d eat it hahaaa.
(reference to eat babies implied for sarcasm only.
“Everytime RP has talked in an interview, GOOGLE CAMPUS specifically, he talks about the 3rd trimester. I have never even heard him talk about a fertilized egg. “
Check out HR 1094. It’s a bill that Ron Paul wrote. He wants a federal law stating that human life begins at the moment of conception. In other words, he wants the federal government to mandate that everyone believe that the above photo is a human being no different then you or me and should enjoy all the rights and privileges afforded to all human beings.
At first glance, I thought that photo was some weird space telescope image of the Sun. Or maybe an enlarged image of a cat’s hairball. It didn’t resemble a person, anyway. But since that hairball has a better chance of becoming president than Ron Paul does, I don’t see what all the fuss is about.
hey natas- who’s the real troll here? Someone who posts on a regular basis or some assfuck like yourself?
So expressing my opinion is now being a troll? Grow the fuck up. If you truly were a libertarian (small “l,” not the party,) you would be fine with all the shit everyone just said.
If your idea of Libertarianism (big “L” now,) is putting people out to pasture, you have a lot of maturing to do before people will take you seriously.
I got a chuckle over Schooly being called a troll by a Ron Paul fanboy. Schooly is a regular poster here on my blog. If it wasn’t for regular posters like Schooly, Jesse Jase, and Sloofus, I would ‘t even bother reading this blog and its my blog.
Natas talking about people being weeded out and put out to pasture reminded me of of the Nazis back in 1939. I then read this today:
Neo-Nazis Heart Ron Paul
It seems that Ron Paul is the candidate of choice with neo-nazis.
Just a few points from someone on the other side of the fence, copied and pasted because I am in a rush. Also, I will not attempt to convert you. I am not nuts like that.
“…a woman to have a choice when it comes to something as important as her own reproduction.”
–Females are only one part in reproduction. Males are the other. A woman should not have the only POV that matters when it comes to an abortion since she and another created the being. Being a “pro-choice” practioner, are you willing to allow a male the choice of keeping the baby?
“…the government shouldn’t pass laws that prohibit people from doing things unless doing those things impedes or intrudes on the rights of others.”
–What about the rights of the baby? Who sticks up for those rights? Isn’t a liberal demcracy founded on the ideals of the rights of all and not just those of the powerful?
“…human life begins at conception.”
–Doesn’t it? From that point forward, can’t this bundle of chromosomes develop into a person? One does not become a “person” overnight. Rather, one grows into a person - and continues to grow for the rest of their life - both mentally and physically. From the moment sperm and egg come into contact, a person develops - heart, head, feelings, eyes, and so much more. In vitro proves that an embryo is not just part of the woman, as it grows outside the body for days with no contact the host mother. Also, if an embryo/fetus/baby were just part of the mother, how is it possible that doctos can save them after a mother dies? In cases of some mothers’ deaths, doctors are able to remove embryos/fetuses/babies and have them survive? Surely if the mother dies, all parts of that mother would die, yes?
Got to go, but if you are interested, I have more.
It’s funny how you Ron Paul haters try to use the abortion issue as a wedge. While true that he is against abortion, the IMPORTANT thing is that he has NO intention to enforce that view upon anyone.
That’s why even though I also disagree with his abortion views, I could care less about his view on it. Totally a BS non issue. Find something relevant to smear him with if you really must smear him.
Love how Rick tries to imply Paul, is a neo nazi because some nutbags endorse him. Man, grow up. I could find total jackasses that support any candidate that there ever was, or will be, and it proves exactly NOTHING.
In debating this is known as an ad hominem attack, and if you resort to it, you automatically lose.
I wonder what you guys are so afraid of? Your beloved mainstream media keeps telling you he doesn’t have a chance to win. Yet look at what you resort to….
Obadiah, I don’t hate Ron Paul. I just don’t care for hypocrites. Ron Paul is a hypocrite. He claims to be a Libertarian and at the same tires tries to pass a federal law that dictates life begins at conception. It’s an end run around the law to get his personal view forced on others.
I never said or implied that Ron Paul was a neo-Nazi. I said that some of his supporters were neo-nazis. Something that happens to be a fact.
Show me an example of neo-Nazis supporting Hillary Clinton or Barrack Obama or even any of the Republicans. There is reason Ron Paul is the candidate of choice for the Nazis and David Duke.
Yeah, your beloved mainstream media. Fuck all of you. I get ALL my news from alternative sources like blogs of people who read the news, and Mother Jones magazine, and the guy down at the coffee shop who talks to himself and smells like piss.
Obediah is right, people. His eloquent oratory has won me over. Let’s all vote for Ron Paul Jones.
RON PAUL JONES FOR PRESIDENT OF LED ZEPPELIN!
PLAY RAMBLE ON, MOTHER FUCKER!!
Thanks for the amusing and apt article.
Ron Paul is full of contradictions. I trust him about half as far as I can throw him.
[...] Not philosophically wrong, but factually wrong. Like that Lincoln stated the Civil War or that a fertilized egg is a human being. To be a Ron Paul supporter, you have to chose to ignore an awful [...]
“It’s a fertilized egg. He believes it is a person like you and me.”
Not at all like you. That forming human being has potential.
Touche! Too bad you’re a month too late. Did it take you that long to think up your clever zinger?
Not only is this hit-piece article biased, but the writer is also ill-informed and cannot process logic properly.
Other points people have raised in the comments here have contested the obvious flaws in this piece, but let me pick on something else.
“The point is, because he has delivered a whole bunch of babies, he doesn’t want a woman to have a choice when it comes to something as important as her own reproduction.” : Sorry but a woman has all the choice she needs when it comes to reproducing and that choice is to HAVE SEX or NOT HAVE SEX.
If you cannot control your sexual activities, then TAKE PROTECTIVE
MEASURES, like birth control or condoms. This is how women would make logical, responsible, and easy CHOICES.
Killing your children is not a choice, its a reflection of your IRRESPONSIBILTY and CARELESSNESS. Demonizing anti-abortionists is indication that you are irresponsible, cannot use logic, or protective measures.
Hey Kamran, stop trying to impose your personal beliefs on others.
If you don’t like abortions, it’s too bad your mother didn’t have one.
Kamran wrote:
Kamran, just because you get a real life woman to have sex with you doesn’t mean she is also consenting to having your child. It’s the reason Ron Paul loving dorks like you are so against a woman’s right to choose. You realize that no sane woman would ever be willingly agree to have a child with you. The only way you can have a kid if you somehow trick a woman into having sex with you and then force her into having the baby.
Being irresponsible and careless is what makes America great! Go back to France, you commie!!
HOW WOULD YOU HAVE LIKED IT IF YOUR MOTHER DECIDED SHE DIDN’T WANT TO HAVE YOU AND THAT WHAT IS IN THAT PICTURE WASN’T A CHILD YET? HOW WOULD IT HAVE BEEN FOR YOU IF YOU NEVER SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY BECAUSE YOUR MOM GOT AN ABORTION?
@Sara: Could you type a little louder? I can barely hear you.
To answer your question, I guess I would have remained up in baby heaven with all the other babies waiting to be born.
Holy crap! One negative post about Ron Paul and his minions ATTACK. Something I’ve noticed repeatedly is the fast movement to calling each other overtly nasty names like ‘assfuck.’ Can’t we be more subtle?
Rick, if you see strange people outside your house, it’s time to call the police.
@Brendan: Actually a while back I wrote quite a bit about the looniness of Ron Paul. I quickly learned his followers were even more crazy then the guy they worshiped.
