I was watching CNN this morning when I learned that there is yet again another fire raging forth in Malibu. So far, four mansions have been destroyed, including the home of Suzanne Somers.
Because of the Santa Ana winds and the geographical location of the hills surrounding Malibu, mansions along the beach in Malibu are constantly burning down. It’s not the first time a celebrity’s home was destroyed in Malibu and it wont be the last. I think it’s dumb to build a mansion someplace where so many of them have burned to the ground, but what do I know? It’s not like I was smart enough to invent the Thighmaster.
Watching CNN switch gears to the topic of sending more troops to Iraq made me realize that there is a parallel between the two stories. What does Bush sending more troops to Iraq have to do with Suzanne Somers and her home burning down?
Sending more troops to Iraq at this point would be like Suzanne Somers going out tomorrow and buying fire insurance .
For both, it’s too late. The time to send more troops to Iraq would have been at the time of the invasion. Before anarchy and chaos and upheaval were allowed to take root in Iraq. Before the looting and before the sectarian violence.
Now it’s simply too late.
If Suzanne Somers were ever going to buy fire insurance for her Malibu mansion, the time would have been before the fire destroyed her home. For her to now say that she is thinking of buying fire insurance would be ridiculous.
For George Bush to say now he is thinking of sending more troops to Iraq is equally ridiculous. Now it’s simply too late.

/ January 9, 2007so what should we do? cant let them bomb towns…no, we cant let them fight like sherman. what can we do? leave? chalk it up as the republican vietnam. hope that by pulling out the other nations in that part of the world will stop hating us? if we want to fix it we should pick a side and then blow the other bunch into hell…and by bunch i mean bunch…fighters and anyone who harbors them. it is all those people understand. thats how the saddam kept everyone in line. but we as americans have not got the balls to be mean and nasty. we will send more troops but they will do just what the troops over there are doing right now, playing cops and robbers.

/ January 9, 2007Lucus, if you think that Bush should send more troops to Iraq, why don’t you enlist in the Army and go over there yourself?
(405) 275-4010
That’s the telephone number for the Army recruiter in Shawnee. Give them a call and tell them you “got the balls to be mean and nasty”. They’ll eat that up.
Of course you have to wait until you finish high school. That’s ok. Bush’s war will still be going on then.

/ January 9, 2007i have my own reasons for not being over there. one of them is because we aint blowing them all to hell. and i did not say we should send more. i said what should we do? where is the answer? if they do not let these new troops do something different there will be no change. and how do you know i am in shawnee? did i get drunk and say something. you want some nut to come find me and kill me because i like walmart. jeeeze man lets have some cover here. but let a nut drive down here because of wal-mart….i got the balls to meet face to face if he comes that far.

/ January 9, 2007Lucas, you’re not in Shawnee. You are in Maud. More specifically, Maud High School. Every time you post one of your nonsensical comments to my blog, your IP address (164.58.237.194) is logged.
You might have your reasons for not wanting to go to Iraq, but I believe someone with your keen military mind would be an asset to the Army. You ought to give that recruiter a call and share your strategy of “blowing them all to hell”. Maybe they haven’t thought of that. Blowing them that is. Call the recruiter and tell them you want to go to Iraq and blow them.

/ January 9, 2007well thank you for telling the world. your blog sucks and blows. i hope some nut job tries to kill me now. but before that, tell me what they should do. you like the fact that our troops are and will be nothing more than well armed cops? give me something that will make more sense than really fighting and winning a war.
Rick
/ January 9, 2007Lucas, instead of spending so much of your time studying military tactics and strategies, you really ought to brush up on that thing called the Internet. Less time reading Clausewitz’s “On War” and more time reading “The Internet for Dummies”. Don’t worry, it has lots of pictures.
In it you will learn about things such as an IP address.
You shouldn’t worry about some nut job tracking you down. I’m fairly certain that any nut job living within 50 miles of you is somehow related to you.
