Why would someone want to buy a Microsoft Zune?
I honestly cannot see why somebody would purposely choose to go out and spend money on a Zune mp3 player. Microsoft’s lame attempt at producing something to compete with Apple’s popular iPod mp3 player. I understand that Microsoft felt the need to once again go out and copy something another company first came up with. Once they realize consumers like whatever another company was able to come up with on their own. It’s what Microsoft does.
They “created” MSN when they realized people liked going online with AOL. They “created” Internet Explorer when they realized people like accessing the web with Netscape. They saw how scary popular the iPod was so they “created” an mp3 player of their very own.
Microsoft doesn’t so much as create as it does mimic. In the case of copying Apple’s popular mp3 player, they seem to have done a poor job. Worse then they normally do when they copy something. They actually chose to make one of the three available colors brown. Who does that?
Just who do they expect to go out and buy a Zune? People that have lost bets and must now do something both stupid and humiliating? Are iPods banned somewhere in the country that I’m not aware of? One of the reasons iPods are such a killer piece of hardware is because it meshes easily and seamlessly with iTunes. Microsoft has Windows Media Player. Ouch.
I’m sure there are some Microsoft loyalists out there that will run right out and buy one of these things. I just cannot imagine anyone really wanting one of these Zune players more then they would an Apple iPod.

In other reports I had read about the Zune I missed the part where they are making it available in brown. I gotta agree with you, who the hell does that. Maybe the color was a designer’s inside joke about his thoughts on the product itself.
To make it even worse for them, the Zune isn’t even compatible with their very own new OS.
Zune Incompatible with Windows Vista
To be fair, I’m sure a lot of software wont work correctly or be compatible with Vista.
Guys, I am not sure how old you guys are but you seem to be as objective as a capricious teenager. My girlfriend has an iPod and she actually bought me a Zune. Shoot, what’s wrong with this thing? I can listen to my music, watch videos (although i don’t care too much about it), has a very nice radio and a yet to be exploited music “sharing” (marketing gimmick) wireless feature. When the iPod comes out with wireless capability and/or radio - because they will, what will you say then? That Apple is copying Microsoft? Come on, you have to stay or become relevant somehow! Let it go. iPods are very nice, in fact that’s what I wanted to get for myself this x-mas. But make no mistake, Zunes will sell and that is good if you like to see better prices across the board. This is not a case of one player replacing another. Also, don’t worry about Vista “incompatibility” too much. I am sure they have not lost sight of this. Trust me, they are not that stupid.
It’s has a nice radio? Wow, I have to admit that a radio is not one of the things I look for in a good mp3 player. Maybe the radio is what makes them so big.
Regardless of maker, I strongly recommend against buying any MP3 player with moving parts (like a spinning hard disk). High-capacity HD iPods like the one I have seem prone to break-down and skippage. And I’m not even the kind of person who dances around with their iPod like in the commercials.
The hard drive can be replaced. In fact all of the parts in an iPod can be replaced. I have websites already bookmarked that sell replacement parts for the iPod. My iPod (4G 20gig) takes a standard Toshiba MK2004GAL laptop hard drive. You do need the special tool for opening the iPod, but the sites that sell the parts also sell the tool you need for around $5.
it’s not like apple invented the mp3 player, they just stole several other co’s ideas and made it simple enough for the average idiot to use it.
my anti spam word was pillow…..
anyhow i totally agree with you on the brown, who does do that? but i can see this thing getting mad hacked and then next thing they will know, is everyone has one and share music with eachother. i mean sit on a bus. next to a cute chic. just nod, and she see’s your zune, you see hers than wordlessly she sends you music, and you totally dig it or just look at her in complete ick. and run away. also whos to say, you cant pick up zune music in the air and still it as it wirelessly floats by. anyhow the music industry is so over stollen from, and they sell more copies than ever. so how ever you listen to your music. dont pay for it. jk.
